The Respirator Evaluation involves 3 parts:

• Physician Exam/Review of Questionnaire

• Pulmonary Function Test

• Chest X-Ray*

*The chest x-ray may not be required for all employees, depending on how long it has been since his/her last chest x-ray and if there are any abnormalities found during his/her physical exam or PFT.

Laboratory Tests commonly done for those using respirators:

• Blood Lead Level

• Zinc Protoporphyrin (ZPP)

These tests will be performed at the request of the employer, unless medically indicated during the physical

exam.
